Teaching Assistant (Primary Level)

About the role

The Teaching Assistant will support the primary classroom teacher at Kings Yangon School, helping to create a safe and engaging learning environment for students. This role involves assisting with lesson delivery, student supervision, and documentation of progress.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with preparing and delivering lessons, including setting up equipment and gathering materials.
• Provide individual and small‑group support to students who need extra help or need to catch up.
• Monitor student behavior during class and non‑classroom times such as lunch and field trips.
• Collaborate with the teacher to identify student needs and develop solutions.
• Document student progress and communicate updates to teachers and parents.
• Help create lesson plans aligned with curriculum and student needs.
• Participate in training, parent conferences, and faculty meetings.
• Assist with other duties as needed to support student and school success.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; ECCD certification preferred.
• Some college coursework in education or a related field is preferred.
• Experience working with children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Initiative, willingness to learn, and ability to follow directions.
