Driver – IRC Myitkyina (Myanmar)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a reliable Driver to support its operations in Myitkyina, Myanmar. The driver will manage daily transport tasks for the office and project sites, ensuring safe and efficient movement of staff, visitors, and goods.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the assigned vehicle to transport expatriates, visitors, and staff.
• Record all trips, mileage, and fuel usage on the vehicle log sheet.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, fuel) and basic maintenance.
• Arrange timely repairs and verify vehicle condition after servicing.
• Secure IRC vehicles and report any accidents, thefts, or damages.
• Clean the vehicle interior and exterior daily.
• Receive official IRC visitors at the airport and assist with immigration procedures when needed.
• Provide logistics support for trainings and workshops in coordination with program and operations teams.
• Assist with additional project or administrative tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Completion of middle/secondary school education.
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience, especially on difficult road conditions.
• Valid Category B driving licence.
• Good communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of auto and manual mechanics.
• Vehicle maintenance and inspection skills.
• Proficient driving skills on challenging terrain.
