About the role
The Senior Fleet & Transport Supervisor leads the transport operation team, overseeing supervisors, fleet administrators, drivers, helpers and outsourced personnel. The role ensures safe, efficient, and on‑time movement of goods while maintaining compliance with all statutory vehicle requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and manage internal and outsourced drivers, helpers, and related staff.
- Arrange ferry transportation for the Transport Operation Team.
- Conduct daily truck inspections and report defects to the Maintenance Team.
- Source, verify and maintain records for outsourced drivers and helpers.
- Manage toll fee records and submit payment requests.
- Monitor and maintain truck documents such as wheel tax, licences and other statutory paperwork.
- Handle transport incidents and accidents, including investigation and reporting.
- Oversee cargo loading and unloading to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Prepare and submit daily operational reports to the Transport Manager.
- Monitor driver behaviour using GPS, dash‑cam, fuel sensors and fuel‑monitoring systems.
- Control fuel consumption, idling, theft and investigate abnormal usage.
- Prevent unnecessary truck stoppages, unauthorized route deviations and operational delays.
- Ensure on‑time dispatch and arrival at customer sites and prompt driver return after unloading.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and manage truck downtime with the Maintenance Team.
- Maintain fleet databases, vehicle records and operational documentation.
- Allocate company‑owned and outsourced trucks according to customer requirements.
- Drive company trucks within SEZs and customer sites when required.
- Assign drivers, schedule daily trips and instruct helpers for smooth operations.
- Support driver induction, training, coaching and performance improvement.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in fleet management, transportation operations or a similar supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, driver management and transport procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to manage daily transport operations, keep accurate records and ensure reliable service.
- Self‑motivated, capable of handling operational issues independently and coordinating with internal and external parties.
