Managing Director - Agricultural Products Trading

About the role

A Myanmar business group active in agricultural trading (rice, edible oils and other commodities) is looking for an experienced Managing Director or Deputy Managing Director. The role leads strategy across agricultural commodity trading, drives growth in domestic and international markets and carries full P&L oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the business strategy for agricultural products trading, with responsibility for overall performance and P&L management.
• Oversee sourcing, procurement, sales, and import and export activities, coordinating supply chain, logistics and finance functions.
• Identify new markets and trading opportunities and strengthen relationships with suppliers and buyers.
• Lead commercial negotiations and manage commodity pricing and inventory exposure.
• Manage working capital, support financial discipline, and work with shareholders and key stakeholders to deliver sustainable growth.
• Build leadership capability, improve operating processes and lead cross-functional teams.

Required profile

• At least 15 years of experience, including substantial leadership responsibility in agricultural products or commodity trading.
• Strong track record in business strategy, P&L management and commercial expansion.
• Sound financial knowledge and a thorough understanding of import and export operations.
• Experience with rice, edible oils or other agricultural commodities is particularly relevant.
