About the role
The Project Assistant (Health & Nutrition) will support the implementation of health and nutrition activities in Rakhine State, focusing on maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) and integrated community case management (iCCM). The role involves coordinating community‑based interventions, supervising volunteers, and ensuring effective delivery of SBCC sessions.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day health and nutrition activities using a community‑based approach, including field and remote monitoring.
- Provide technical training on MNCH and iCCM to community health workers.
- Facilitate and supervise SBCC group sessions (Mother Leader, Mother‑to‑Mother, Father, IYCF caregiver) to drive behavior change.
- Coordinate with local authorities and mobile clinics to ensure smooth referral pathways.
- Oversee stock management of health commodities (clean delivery kits, micronutrient tablets, ORS, zinc, amoxicillin) and arrange logistics for distribution.
- Collect, verify, and follow up on data from field staff, and submit monthly activity and stock reports.
- Support the Project Coordinator in planning, budgeting, and preparing project proposals.
Required profile
- Any bachelor’s degree (health‑related degree preferred).
- Minimum 1 year experience in maternal/child health and nutrition programmes.
- Proven ability to manage and coach diverse teams, including community facilitators.
- Willingness to work in hard‑to‑reach or remote areas and respect local cultures.
- Commitment to Save the Children’s values and child safeguarding policies.
