Technical Advisor (Health)

About the role

The Technical Advisor (Health) will lead the development, review and monitoring of the Health & Nutrition technical strategy and annual implementation plan, ensuring alignment with WVIM’s global standards. This role combines strategic programme design, technical guidance, evidence‑based learning and advocacy to improve health outcomes for vulnerable children in Myanmar.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, contextualisation and adaptation of Health & Nutrition (H&N) programme models, standards, guidelines and tools.
• Coordinate the H&N technical team, providing technical input to grant proposals, budgets and implementation plans.
• Develop and disseminate technical resources, quality‑assurance tools and an annual capacity‑building plan.
• Lead the creation and use of monitoring, evaluation and learning tools, capturing evidence and best practices.
• Represent WVIM as a technical partner in government, UN, NGO and donor forums, influencing policy and strategic partnerships.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the grants acquisition cycle and maintain a funding pipeline.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience implementing Health and/or Nutrition programmes in Myanmar.
• Strong understanding of Myanmar’s health and nutrition policies, health systems and community health services.
• Proven experience in training, coaching and capacity strengthening of health staff.
• Demonstrated networking, partnership development and government relationship management.
• Experience generating, analysing and applying data and evidence for programme improvement.
• Master’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Bachelor’s degree in Health, Medicine, Public Health or related discipline.
• Valid SAMA certification or certification in process.
• Training in basic epidemiology and statistics (strongly preferred).
• Technical expertise in community health and health‑systems strengthening.
