Hospital Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Hospital Housekeeping Manager leads the cleaning and environmental services team to maintain a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role combines operational leadership with compliance oversight in a fast‑paced healthcare setting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve housekeeping systems, procedures, and standards.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate all housekeeping staff, ensuring 24/7 coverage of patient rooms, surgery suites, clinical areas, offices, and public spaces.
• Coordinate daily with nursing, infection control, front office, and maintenance to align cleaning activities with clinical needs.
• Oversee waste management, linen handling, inventory control, and procurement of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Monitor the housekeeping budget, prepare reports, and ensure cost‑effective operations.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission International (JCI) standards, infection‑control protocols, and local health‑safety regulations.
• Investigate and resolve complaints, enforce 5S methodology, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel, Facility, or Healthcare Management.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospital or large‑scale healthcare facility.
• Proven experience managing cleaning, waste, linen, inventory, and staff deployment.
• Strong knowledge of infection‑prevention standards and accreditation requirements (e.g., JCI).
