Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will manage daily accounting tasks, coordinate financial functions, and ensure compliance with donor regulations. Based in Sittwe, the role also serves as the primary contact for implementing partners, providing technical finance advice and capacity‑building support.

Key responsibilities

• Process financial payments and treasury operations, maintain payment trackers, and initiate monthly cash transfer requests while complying with tax and donor rules.
• Update cashbooks, upload vendor payments and general journal entries into the Dynamics ERP system, perform bank reconciliations, and support month‑end and year‑end closings.
• Liaise with program and support teams, conduct field monitoring, and assist program teams with direct cash payments to beneficiaries.
• Provide technical guidance to partner finance teams, design reporting tools and templates, and deliver regular capacity‑building sessions.
• Validate partner financial reports, conduct due‑diligence reviews, enforce budgetary controls, and track disbursements against sub‑grant agreements.
• Carry out compliance checks and audits of partner reports, ensure statutory obligations are met, and coordinate partner ledger uploads for donor reporting.
• Collaborate with program and support services during coordination meetings to ensure seamless financial operations.
