Assistant Risk & Compliance Manager

About the role

The Assistant Risk & Compliance Manager supports the development and enforcement of risk management policies and procedures at Hana Microfinance. This role ensures that risk protocols are followed across the organization and helps build a culture of risk awareness.

Key responsibilities

• Propose and obtain approval for modifications to risk‑related policies, processes, and procedures.
• Monitor workplace activities to verify compliance with risk management protocols.
• Report compliance issues to line managers and follow up for prompt resolution.
• Prepare monthly control and compliance evaluation reports for senior management.
• Promote fraud prevention, detection, and correction awareness throughout the organization.
• Conduct regular spot visits and supervise branch and head‑office control staff.
• Advise management on policy weaknesses and recommend appropriate amendments.
• Deliver training to staff to embed risk awareness in daily responsibilities.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in the microfinance or financial services sector.
• At least 2 years experience in risk management.
• Strong writing ability in both Myanmar and English for policies, procedures, and reports.
• Excellent communication and listening skills with all management levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with enterprise software.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Strong problem‑solving, reporting, and data‑analysis capabilities.
