Chief Accountant (Local Only)

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead the financial function of the Elevator & Escalator Business, ensuring accurate reporting, robust cost control and full tax compliance. Working closely with sales, operations, installation and procurement teams, the role provides strategic financial insight to support commercial decisions and drive profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including General Ledger, AR, AP, Fixed Assets and Inventory.
• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closings and prepare management accounts and financial statements.
• Manage project accounting, margin analysis, revenue recognition and Work‑in‑Progress reporting.
• Support pricing, tender evaluation and monitor market price fluctuations of imported equipment.
• Conduct cost, budget and segment profitability analysis across all business divisions.
• Plan cash flow, manage credit control, billing milestones and supplier payments.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation, stock aging analysis and optimisation.
• Maintain statutory tax compliance, coordinate audits and uphold internal controls.
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, set KPIs and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading an accounting function in a manufacturing or services environment.
• Strong knowledge of Myanmar Accounting Standards, local tax regulations and internal control frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and provide actionable financial insights.
