Project Officer – Health (Strategic Purchasing)

About the role

The Project Officer (Health) will lead the implementation of Myanmar’s Strategic Purchasing pilot, acting as the field focal point in Rakhine. Working with a local partner, the officer will ensure operational efficiency, coordinate stakeholders, and generate evidence for future health financing initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the strategic purchasing pilot and ensure activities follow the work plan.
• Verify clinic documentation, develop provider contracts, payment mechanisms and monitoring frameworks.
• Conduct patient exit interviews, collect and analyse service delivery and financial data, and produce progress reports.
• Facilitate communication among local government, health providers and communities; organise workshops and training sessions.
• Track project expenditures, ensure compliance with donor and government requirements, and propose risk mitigation measures.
• Implement child safeguarding and counter‑fraud procedures in line with organisational policy.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse local stakeholders.
• Experience in health project coordination or related field work.
• Level 3 child safeguarding clearance (regular contact with children or young people).
