About the role
The British Council is seeking a Head of Market for Myanmar to lead its English & Examinations business unit. This senior position will shape market strategy, drive growth, and ensure sustainable profitability across the country.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Myanmar market business plan aligned with global strategy.
- Own the market P&L, identify revenue opportunities and allocate resources to meet financial targets.
- Lead high‑performing, cross‑functional teams and foster an inclusive, results‑driven culture.
- Build and maintain partnerships with customers, government bodies, and strategic partners.
- Collaborate with Proposition, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, People and Professional Services to secure resources and align priorities.
- Monitor market performance using data and intelligence, manage risk and resolve complex challenges.
Required profile
- Proven senior leadership experience in a commercial or market‑facing role.
- Strong track record of delivering profitable growth in a matrix environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Ability to translate global strategy into local market actions.
