Gender and Statistics Consultant – Myanmar 2026 Gender Profile

About the role

UN Women is seeking a National Consultant to lead the update of the 2026 Myanmar Gender Profile for Humanitarian Action. The consultant will collect, analyse, and present gender‑disaggregated data to inform humanitarian programming and policy.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement qualitative and quantitative data collection processes across Myanmar.
• Analyse gender‑specific indicators using statistical methods.
• Produce an analytical report summarising findings, gaps, and recommendations.
• Coordinate with humanitarian clusters, NGOs, and government bodies to ensure data relevance.
• Contribute to gender mainstreaming guidance for sub‑national humanitarian programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in gender‑focused statistical research, preferably in humanitarian contexts.
• Strong understanding of Myanmar’s socio‑economic landscape and gender dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and manage field data collection in challenging environments.

Required skills

• Statistical analysis (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS or equivalent).
• Quantitative and qualitative data collection methodologies.
• Gender analysis and indicator development.
• Report writing and data visualisation.
