Field Accountant (RISE Project)

About the role

World Vision is hiring a Field Accountant for its RISE project in Yangon, Myanmar. This is a local fixed-term position focused on project financial management, compliance and partner support. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial documents, handling cash and bank transactions, monitoring compliance with donor requirements and supporting project managers and implementing partners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and process financial documents in line with World Vision financial policies, donor regulations and grant guidelines.
• Administer project cash and bank transactions, maintain daily cash books and conduct daily cash counts.
• Prepare and process payment vouchers (CDVs, DVs, JVs) accurately and on time.
• Maintain complete, accurate and secure filing of all financial records and use financial systems such as ProVision and Concur.
• Monitor compliance with donor requirements, procurement policies and internal financial controls, and carry out regular monitoring visits to project sites and partner offices.
• Review partners' financial reports, give technical guidance on financial management and donor compliance, and prepare monitoring reports with recommended corrective actions.
• Take part in procurement and sub-procurement, verify that project assets are recorded and safeguarded, and prepare fund forecasts, cash flow projections and fund requests.
• Support the Finance Coordinator in implementing audit recommendations and follow up on corrective actions.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of work experience in INGO/NGO, emergency response or grant projects.
• At least 3 years of experience in banking and accounts.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related subject.
• Ability to handle large sums of cash and to make frequent field monitoring visits.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and proven teamwork.
• Commitment to the organization's core values, code of conduct and safeguarding requirements.
