Country Director – Myanmar

About the role

The Country Director will lead PUI’s mission in Myanmar, ensuring safety, program quality, and sustainable growth. This senior position reports to headquarters and represents the organization with partners and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of the mission and staff.
• Coordinate programme teams, monitor implementation, and propose new operations.
• Oversee human resources, staffing, and performance management.
• Manage logistical, administrative, and financial compliance with donor rules.
• Ensure medical and technical practices follow PUI policies.
• Represent PUI with donors, media, partners, and authorities.
• Facilitate communication between headquarters and field, meeting reporting deadlines.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in humanitarian action, project management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with international NGOs, including project coordination.
• Previous experience as a Country Director or equivalent is an asset.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making, and stress‑resilience in unstable contexts.

Required skills

• Humanitarian project management.
• Team management and donor compliance knowledge.
• Excellent written communication in English (French is a plus).

• Executive Fixed‑Term Contract (12 months, starting 1/4/2027).
• Monthly gross salary €3,330 – €3,730, plus seniority allowance.
