Assistant Finance Manager

About the role

An experienced Assistant Finance Manager is sought to oversee financial planning, cash flow and banking operations. The role covers continuous financial forecasting, budget control and working capital optimisation, end-to-end bank loan applications and debt portfolios, feasibility studies for capital investments, tax and IAS/IFRS compliance, and variance analyses presented to executive leadership. The position is based in Thaketa Township, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee weekly and monthly budgets and continuous financial forecasting.
• Perform financial variance analysis, comparing budget to actual performance and reporting to executive management.
• Manage daily cash flow, including inflows, outflows, collections and payment disbursement cutoffs.
• Optimise working capital to ensure liquidity and fund availability.
• Handle bank loan applications, renewals, facility extensions, collateral valuation and bank relationship management.
• Oversee loan portfolios, interest rates and debt repayment schedules.
• Carry out feasibility studies, ROI and payback period analyses for new investments and capital expenditure.
• Lead financial evaluation of strategic corporate initiatives.
• Enforce financial SOPs and budget control policies, manage corporate and commercial tax compliance, and handle internal and external audit workflows.

Required profile

• B.Com, B.Act or another relevant accounting and finance degree.
• 3+ years of experience in finance management, focusing on FP&A, cash flow and banking processes.
• Proven track record in budget control, cash flow management and bank financing operations.
• Advanced Excel skills (financial modelling) and strong knowledge of IAS/IFRS.
• Leadership, analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
