Senior Manager, Legal Counsel

About the role

This senior position provides critical legal, regulatory and governance support to the business, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and corporate requirements while enabling growth and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate, review and modify contracts and agreements across business lines.
• Provide legal advice on insurance, commercial, civil, intellectual property and other relevant matters.
• Conduct legal research, interpret regulatory changes and advise on risk management.
• Review product and marketing materials for legal implications.
• Advise on internal policies, including risk assessment and record management.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting, including financial statements and statistics.
• Support corporate secretarial functions: manage shareholder and board meetings, draft resolutions, maintain corporate records and statutory filings.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with 8‑10 years post‑qualification experience.
• Licensed Advocate or practicing lawyer.
• Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.) or related discipline is a plus.
• Experience in regulated sectors such as insurance, financial services or banking.
