Program Director

About the role

World Vision is looking for a Program Director to provide overall leadership for multi‑sector projects in Myanmar, ensuring that vulnerable children receive life‑changing support. The role combines strategic planning, donor management, and field coordination while travelling up to 40% of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project implementation across sectors and geographic areas, ensuring outcomes meet donor expectations and approved designs.
• Oversee integrated planning, budgeting, risk management and reporting systems, and coordinate with senior managers and consortium partners.
• Directly supervise senior staff, build a high‑performing team, and manage recruitment, onboarding and performance processes.
• Manage financial resources, procurement and compliance with donor regulations and World Vision policies.
• Ensure robust monitoring, learning and accountability mechanisms, producing high‑quality technical and financial reports.
• Represent World Vision with donors, governments and coordination platforms, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
• Identify and mitigate operational, financial and security risks, adapting programmes to changing contexts.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in international development, public health, business administration, social sciences or related field.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in programme or grant management, including large multi‑partner, multi‑sector projects.
• Proven experience in financial management, donor compliance and working in fragile or conflict‑affected environments.
• Strong leadership of multidisciplinary teams and experience with consortium or multi‑partner coordination.
• Excellent English communication skills; basic Myanmar language is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel 30–40 % and work in insecure, remote locations.
