English Teacher – Hourly Paid (Yangon)

About the role

The British Council seeks an enthusiastic English Teacher to deliver high‑quality face‑to‑face and online lessons to learners in Yangon, Myanmar. You will support the Council’s mission of promoting quality education and cultural understanding between the UK and Myanmar.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for primary, lower‑secondary, and upper‑secondary learners.
• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and encourage learner autonomy.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve course materials and ensure smooth lesson delivery.
• Complete essential administrative tasks, including attendance records and reporting.

Required profile

• Full mastery of English (CEFR C2) with IELTS Academic overall 7.5, speaking 8.0 or higher.
• Valid IELTS Academic certificate.
• Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL with at least 2 years post‑certificate teaching experience (800+ hours per age group).
• University degree.
• Legal right to live and work in Myanmar.
