Teaching Assistant (Primary Years Level)

About the role

The Teaching Assistant will work closely with the classroom teacher at Kings Yangon School to support high‑quality education for primary‑year students, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with preparing and delivering lessons, including setting up equipment and gathering materials.
• Provide individual and small‑group support to students who need extra help or to catch up on missed work.
• Monitor student behavior and activity during class and non‑classroom times such as lunch and field trips to maintain safety and order.
• Collaborate with the teacher to identify and address student needs and develop effective solutions that support academic success.
• Document student progress and communicate information to the teacher and parents as needed.
• Help create lesson plans that align with the curriculum and student needs.
• Participate in training, parent conferences, and faculty meetings as required.
• Assist with other duties and activities to support the overall success of students and the school.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (ECCD certification preferred).
• Some college coursework in education or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use initiative and work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
• Willingness to learn and follow directions.
