Teaching Assistant

About the role

The Teaching Assistant will work with the teacher to provide high-quality education to students at Kings Yangon School, assisting with a variety of classroom activities to ensure that students are safe, engaged, and learning to their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with preparing and delivering lessons, including setting up equipment and gathering materials.
• Provide individual and small‑group support to students who require additional help or need to catch up on missed work.
• Monitor student behavior and activity during class and non‑classroom times, such as lunch and field trips, to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment.
• Collaborate with the teacher to identify and address student needs and concerns, and develop effective solutions that support academic success.
• Document student progress and communicate this information to the teacher and parents as needed.
• Help create lesson plans that align with the curriculum and student needs.
• Adhere to state, school, and classroom rules and regulations at all times.
• Participate in training, parent conferences, and faculty meetings as required.
• Assist with other duties and activities as needed to support the overall success of students and the school.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some college coursework in education or a related field (preferred).
• Experience working with children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Initiative and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
