Assistant Manager – Finished Goods & Outbound Operations

About the role

The Assistant Manager (Finished Goods / Outbound) ensures smooth warehouse operations, accurate inventory, and cost‑effective outbound distribution. Working closely with production, planning, QA, sales, customers and logistics service providers, the role guarantees timely order fulfillment and continuous production flow.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily finished‑goods warehouse activities – receiving, put‑away, storage, picking, staging and loading.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, FIFO rotation, batch traceability and proper segregation of products.
• Optimize warehouse space, housekeeping, safety and material‑handling practices.
• Lead stock reconciliations and physical counts, investigating any variances.
• Prepare daily/weekly outbound dispatch plans based on orders, forecasts and delivery priorities.
• Coordinate loading sequences, truck requirements and delivery schedules with sales, QA and transport providers.
• Manage approved logistics service providers, monitor service quality, safety and cost performance.
• Identify opportunities for route optimisation, fleet utilisation and cost reduction.
• Handle reverse logistics, monitor return ratios, investigate root causes and coordinate disposition of returned materials.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure finished goods are released, allocated and dispatched correctly.

Required profile

• Strong coordination skills with production, planning, QA, sales and logistics partners.
• Experience in warehouse management, outbound planning and transport provider oversight.
• Ability to lead stock reconciliation processes and resolve inventory variances.
• Analytical mindset to monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Good understanding of reverse‑logistics processes and return handling.
