Assistant Chief Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Chief Accountant will join Myanmar Indo Best Company Limited’s finance team in Dagon Myothit (North), Yangon. This full‑time, on‑site position supports the company’s diverse operations across FMCG, retail, and fashion by ensuring accurate financial reporting and robust accounting controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage general ledger entries, account reconciliations and journal postings.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow monitoring and variance analysis.
• Oversee tax calculations and ensure compliance with Myanmar accounting standards and local regulations.
• Supervise junior accounting staff and coordinate with internal departments and external auditors.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including internal control testing.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function.
• Produce analytical reports for senior management decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or ACCA preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting or finance, preferably in FMCG, retail or multi‑business environments.
• Strong knowledge of Myanmar accounting standards, tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience supervising junior staff and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and numerical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (advantage).
