About the role

The Area Sales Officer (ASO) serves as the primary point of contact for customers within an assigned territory, managing the distribution of one or more brands across designated outlets. The role focuses on building strong professional relationships, ensuring product visibility, meeting sales targets, and delivering high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate outlet record cards and use them, along with a sales folder, to plan and execute calls.
• Adjust journey plans when territory boundaries change and set call frequency based on outlet sales.
• Identify customer needs through questioning techniques and present product features, advantages, and benefits using approved selling tools.
• Follow the 6‑step Outlet Execution Excellence process to meet specific KPIs and cycle‑plan requirements.
• Calculate recommended order quantities using sales data, stock levels, seasonal trends, and special occasions.
• Prospect new outlets, gather opening information, and schedule initial calls as part of weekly planning.
• Conduct structured negotiations, adhering to agreed walk‑away points and closing techniques.
• Handle product complaints proactively and maintain compliance with customer service standards.
• Update and maintain a standardized customer folder on a monthly basis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and follow established processes.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
