Senior Fiber Engineer

About the role

The Senior Fiber Engineer will lead the design and planning of FTTx fiber networks in Yangon. This full‑time position requires technical leadership, coordination with internal and external partners, and a focus on delivering high‑quality, on‑time projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design and planning for GPON, FTTx, XGSPON and Active Ethernet networks.
• Supervise end‑to‑end fiber design activities, ensuring accuracy, scalability and compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams and partners to deliver projects on schedule.
• Conduct site surveys and optimise designs for efficient rollout.
• Develop material forecasts and project plans aligned with operational goals.
• Recommend and evaluate new technologies, equipment and design improvements.
• Maintain technical excellence, continuous improvement and quality control.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fiber design and planning within a fixed‑line or cable operator environment.
• Proven experience with fiber design, survey and inventory tools.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with a customer‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• GPON, FTTx, XGSPON and Active Ethernet network architectures.
• Fiber design and planning tools, including survey and inventory software.
• Preparation of High‑Level Design (HLD), Low‑Level Design (LLD), permit drawings and as‑built documentation.
• Knowledge of underground and aerial fiber network topology.
• Quality control of engineering designs and design optimisation techniques.
