Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of our accounting operations. The role will support the Finance Manager in month‑end and year‑end closings, financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Review and maintain daily accounting transactions, journal entries, and General Ledger accounts.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes, meeting all deadlines.
• Prepare profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow statement, trial balance, and management reports.
• Perform and review bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve unreconciled items promptly.
• Analyze budget vs. actual, cost, and financial variances and report findings.
• Prepare documentation for tax, audit, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure adherence to finance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Supervise and guide Accountants and Junior Accountants.
• Identify accounting errors, financial risks, and unusual transactions for escalation.
• Support process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Produce ad‑hoc financial reports and analyses as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• Professional qualification such as LCCI Level III, ACCA preferred.
• 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably at senior level.
• Strong knowledge of full‑set accounting, financial reporting, and month‑end closing.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, accuracy, integrity, and leadership abilities.
