Safety, Health and Environment Manager

About the role

The Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Manager will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of MPCL’s SHE Management System across its glass bottle factory. This role ensures compliance with national legislation, ISO standards and internal policies while fostering a strong safety and environmental culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance the SHE Management System, ensuring alignment with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments and implement control measures for high‑risk activities such as LOTO, confined space entry, hot work and chemical handling.
• Coordinate occupational health monitoring, medical surveillance and workplace exposure assessments.
• Manage environmental aspects, monitor permits, track energy, water and waste performance, and drive pollution‑prevention initiatives.
• Lead incident investigations, perform root‑cause analysis and oversee corrective‑preventive actions.
• Prepare emergency response plans, conduct drills and liaise with external emergency services.
• Deliver SHE training, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns to build a proactive safety culture.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
• Experience with risk assessment, LOTO procedures and incident investigation methodologies.
• Ability to manage environmental permits, monitor energy/water usage and implement pollution‑prevention measures.
• Proficiency in developing emergency response plans and conducting safety drills.
