Public Relations Officer – Government & Stakeholder Liaison

About the role

The Public Relations Officer will act as the primary liaison between MBT and government bodies, regulatory agencies, business partners and other external stakeholders. This role ensures smooth communication, secures necessary approvals and represents the company in official meetings and site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with government departments, regulatory authorities and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate the acquisition of permits, licenses, approvals and related documentation.
• Serve as the point of contact between government agencies and internal teams to support business operations.
• Handle government‑related issues, emergency cases and external coordination.
• Attend official meetings, site visits and travel as required.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure company compliance.
• Prepare reports, correspondence and maintain records of all government communications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Law, Business Administration, Communications or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in public relations, government relations, corporate affairs or a similar role.
• Experience in the telecommunications industry is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of government structures, regulations and approval processes.
• Valid Myanmar driving licence and willingness to travel for meetings and site visits.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
