Project Assistant (Case Supervisor) - Child Protection

About the role

SCI Asia is recruiting one Project Assistant (Case Supervisor) for its Child Protection programme in Central Myanmar, under a fixed-term contract until November 2026. The post holder supports the implementation of Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) activities and acts as a child protection case management supervisor, supporting case workers' technical competence and practice while promoting wellbeing and effective monitoring of case management in line with interagency guidelines and the organization's Step to Protection procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise case workers: weekly one-hour individual supervision, weekly case management team meetings and weekly case file reviews.
• Support case workers to implement case management according to SOPs, and monitor documentation through file and database reviews.
• Review and analyse caseload trends to inform programming, and assess caseworker capacity against a competency framework.
• Delegate tasks to caseworkers, considering their gender, language and communication skills, and assist in capacity planning.
• Provide direct support to high-risk and complex cases and ensure service mapping is kept up to date.
• Deliver briefings on child safeguarding and appropriate behaviour, and ensure concerns are reported and addressed immediately.
• Assist in preparing and monitoring Cash Safety Plans, coordinate with MEAL teams on data collection and accountability, and ensure safe delivery of cash-related activities.
• Work with community social workers and other stakeholders to identify and safely refer children at risk, and contribute to internal and external reporting.
• Take part in emergency response interventions and prepare training checklists and agendas with the supervisor and team.
• Comply with safeguarding, counter-fraud and child protection policies.
