Internal Audit Unit Assistant

About the role

The Internal Audit Unit Assistant supports the internal audit department in ensuring compliance, assessing risks, and verifying loan processes within a micro‑finance environment. This role involves both office‑based administrative work and field visits to client sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the head of internal audit, unit manager and officer with administrative tasks.
• Help assess compliance with field operation procedures, credit policies and related procedures.
• Visit clients’ homes to observe loan officers and branch management field operations.
• Check and verify customer information, supporting documents and loan files.
• Identify and document business processes and controls to evaluate risks and compensating controls.
• Regularly review and check financial statements on a monthly basis.
• Coordinate audit efforts with other units of the internal audit department.
• Ensure audit practices conform to departmental and professional standards and assist in internal audit reporting.
• Follow up on approved recommendations to confirm implementation.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least one year of experience in auditing or micro‑finance (preferred).
• Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
• Willingness and ability to travel for field work.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
