Chief Accountant (Section Head)

About the role

We are looking for a Chief Accountant (Section Head) to oversee all accounting processes, ensure compliance with new standards, and lead the implementation of accounting software across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and verify daily accounting operations and processes.
• Implement new accounting standards and oversee software adoption.
• Coordinate with branch accounting staff and related officers.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports as directed.
• Manage budget performance, identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Submit required monthly reports to IBRB (Myanmar Insurance).
• Handle tax filing and assessments for commercial, income, and capital gain taxes.
• Support internal and external audit teams during financial statement reviews.
• Resolve accounting issues promptly and report to Senior Chief Accountant and Head of Finance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CAP certificate or professional qualification preferred.
• Minimum three years experience in a Chief Accountant or equivalent senior accounting role.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive, adaptable to new systems, with strong integrity and accountability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax laws.
