Healthcare Officer

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Officer to provide comprehensive physical and mental health support to students during school hours. The role involves close collaboration with teachers, parents and external health providers to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, treat and manage students' health needs, including first aid, medication administration and emergency care.
• Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma or seizures.
• Maintain accurate health records, including immunizations, health assessments and medical histories, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents and healthcare providers to promote overall school health.
• Design and deliver health education programs for students, staff and parents on topics like nutrition and hygiene.
• Conduct regular health screenings to detect problems early.
• Participate in school safety and emergency preparedness drills.
• Ensure adherence to national and local health regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Minimum two years of experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong assessment, communication and organizational abilities.
• Excellent judgment and decision‑making skills.
