General Manager - Export Trading

About the role

The General Manager – Export Trading will lead the end‑to‑end export operations for seafood, beans and pulses, ensuring stable supplier relationships, regulatory compliance and revenue growth. Reporting to senior leadership, this role combines strategic sales guidance with hands‑on supply‑chain oversight in Yangon.

Key responsibilities

• Own vendor and supply‑chain relationships with critical domestic and international suppliers to guarantee long‑term stability.
• Monitor and evaluate vendor performance metrics such as product quality, lead times and trading agreement compliance.
• Track daily portfolio metrics, including scrap reports, export stock status and revenue growth.
• Oversee the Export License Team to secure permits, manage business license applications and ensure smooth customs clearance.
• Guide the Sales Team on market positioning, pricing strategies and customer development to accelerate inventory liquidation.
• Direct the MIS Team to capture accurate export data, inventory tracking and sales reporting for optimized trading cycles.
• Supervise daily team reports, provide cross‑functional support and drive overall team performance.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of progressive experience in export business, specifically in seafood and beans & pulses.
• Established relationships with shipping lines and freight forwarders for outbound logistics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English for international trade negotiations.
• Valid driving licence is an added advantage.
