Finance Grants Manager

About the role

SCI Asia is recruiting a Finance Grants Manager in Yangon, reporting to the Head of Finance and Grant. The role supports the Head of Finance and Grant in partners' management, contracting and financial monitoring of GFATM-Myanmar projects, and involves managing, supervising and evaluating a team of two Grant Coordinators. It is a fixed-term position.

Key responsibilities

• Review partners' financial reports and fund requests, check that adjustments in the system are accurate, and review budgets and participate in budget negotiations and reprogramming
• Prepare fund disbursement recommendations in line with sub-grant clauses, maintain sub-grant tracking sheets and reconcile partner data with Agresso
• Ensure partners comply with donor and SCI policies, attach mandatory policies to agreements, and take part in pre-award capacity assessments and sub-grant closeout
• Monitor partner progress, prepare and review monitoring reports, follow up corrective action plans and support capacity-building training for partner finance staff
• Take part in grant audits and investigations, coordinate with auditors and follow up audit corrective actions
• Manage and develop the team's recruitment, training, promotion and supervision, and assist in building financial skills among SR staff
• Ensure child safeguarding in project activities and respond to children's feedback

Required profile

• At least six years of experience, including three at management level in the finance department of a national or international organization; Global Fund project experience is an asset
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field; CPA or equivalent (CA, ACMA, ACCA) or a master's degree preferred
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally up to 25% of working time, and to adapt hours during emergencies
• Fluent written and spoken English

• Excellent analytical skills and sound knowledge of budgeting and budget management
• Understanding of financial systems, internal controls and contractual compliance
• Negotiation and communication skills, and ability to handle a complex workload under tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Excel, databases, PowerPoint and Word
