Finance Officer (GFATM)

About the role

Save the Children (SCI) Asia is recruiting a Finance Officer for its GFATM programme in Yangon, Myanmar. The post assists the GFATM-PR team with administrative and financial tasks, including communications support, logistics for PR staff attending coordination meetings with national programmes, cash and float management, payment vouchers, procurement support and office facilities. It reports to the Head of Finance & Grant, requires no financial approval authority and involves minimal travel (about 7 days per quarter).

Key responsibilities

• Process payments in line with budget holders' authorisation and Save the Children's financial management policy, and manage cash and petty cash reconciliations.
• Act as focal point for submitting documents to the central office and for replenishing cash delivered to GFATM operations.
• Review and verify invoices before payment authorisation, and ensure all collections and payments use serially numbered cash receipts and payment vouchers.
• Maintain trackers for local currency payments, international staff benefits, advances and claims, and enter supplier payments into the GLACOS system.
• Record financial data in Excel spreadsheets and ensure transactions are coded correctly in the financial management system.
• Keep cash kept at the GF safe matched with the cash flow statement, and support internal audit investigations.
• Support the FWA process, supplier vetting and act as fixed assets registrar for the GF unit.
• Comply with the Child Safeguarding Policy and report suspicions of child abuse.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field; professional qualification in financial management or accounting preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in a related field.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Strong organisational skills, time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel to field offices and work in difficult environments.
• Commitment to Save the Children's aims, values and principles, and compliance with its policies.
