Consultant Roster: Child Protection in Emergencies (Myanmar)

About the role
The purpose of establishing the consultant’s roster of experts in Child Protection in Emergencies is to provide UNICEF Myanmar with a pool of pre‑qualified consultants who can be contracted quickly to deliver high‑quality technical advisory, strategic and operational support on child protection, especially during emergencies.
Key responsibilities
- Technical programme support such as conducting rapid assessments and situation analysis, adapting CPiE tools and guidance to the context.
- Planning and coordination support including facilitating inter‑sectoral planning, contributing to emergency response plans and humanitarian appeals, and assisting in emergency scale‑up.
- Monitoring and reporting support such as monitoring implementation, preparing briefing notes and recording good practices and lessons learned.
Required profile
- Advanced university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, International Development, Human Rights, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, International Relations, Law).
- 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in child protection.
- At least 5 years of direct CPiE experience in humanitarian settings, including emergency response or surge deployment.
- Experience supporting emergency responses, preparedness or recovery programmes in conflict, disaster or displacement contexts.
- Experience working with UN agencies, NGOs or partners.
Required skills
- Knowledge of Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS).
- Familiarity with UNICEF’s Core Commitments for Children (CCC).
- Community‑based protection approaches.
- Inter‑Agency Case Management guidelines.
- Protection mainstreaming through child safeguarding, PSEA and accountability to affected populations.
- Monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian programmes.
- Results‑based management.
