Consultant Roster – Child Protection in Emergencies (Myanmar)

About the role

UNICEF Myanmar is establishing a roster of pre‑qualified consultants to provide rapid, high‑quality technical advisory and operational support on child protection during emergencies. Candidates with expertise in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) or Unaccompanied and Separated Children (UASC) are invited to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct rapid assessments, situation analyses and adapt Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) tools to the Myanmar context.
• Facilitate inter‑sectoral planning, contribute to emergency response plans, and support scale‑up of humanitarian operations.
• Monitor implementation, prepare briefing notes, document good practices and lessons learned for reporting.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in Social Work, International Development, Human Rights, Psychology, Public Health, International Relations, Law or related fields.
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in child protection, including at least 5 years of direct CPiE work in humanitarian settings and experience with UN agencies or NGOs.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS).
• Familiarity with UNICEF’s Core Commitments for Children (CCC) and Inter‑Agency Case Management guidelines.
• Experience with protection mainstreaming, child safeguarding, PSEA and accountability to affected populations.
• Monitoring and evaluation of humanitarian programmes, including results‑based management.
• Technical expertise in MHPSS implementation or UASC family tracing, reunification and alternative care arrangements.
