Chief Accountant – Elevator & Escalator Business

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead all accounting and financial control functions for the Elevator & Escalator Business of Fortune International Limited. Based in Yangon, the role ensures accurate financial reporting, project accounting, tax compliance and cash‑flow management while supporting commercial and operational decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and Inventory Accounting.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing.
• Prepare management accounts, financial statements and analytical reports.
• Maintain compliance with Myanmar Accounting Standards, tax regulations and company policies.
• Monitor financial performance of installation and modernization projects, reviewing revenues, costs, margins and work‑in‑progress.
• Ensure proper revenue recognition according to contract milestones and accounting standards.
• Analyze project profitability and provide recommendations to management.
• Partner with Sales and Business Heads to support pricing decisions, tender evaluations and quotation reviews.
• Monitor pricing fluctuations of imported equipment, materials and spare parts, assessing foreign‑exchange and cost impacts.
• Analyze operational costs related to installation, maintenance, logistics and spare‑parts business and monitor budget utilization.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in managing general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, fixed assets and inventory accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Myanmar Accounting Standards and local tax regulations.
• Ability to prepare management accounts, financial statements and analytical reports.
• Experience in project and contract accounting, including revenue recognition and profitability analysis.
• Proven collaboration with sales, operations, procurement and senior management teams.
