Branch Manager – Supermarket

About the role

The Supermarket Branch Manager leads all aspects of store operations, driving profitability while ensuring a safe, clean and customer‑focused shopping environment. Reporting to senior regional leadership, the manager oversees sales, financial performance, staff management and compliance across all departments.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of all store areas (produce, deli, bakery, stock, cashiering, etc.) and enforce operational policies.
• Manage inventory control, monitor stock levels and coordinate receiving to minimise waste and out‑of‑stock situations.
• Develop and manage the annual budget, control expenses, analyse sales and profit reports and implement strategies to increase revenue.
• Lead recruitment, training and supervision of store staff, conduct performance evaluations and handle scheduling and attendance.
• Ensure excellent customer service, promptly resolve complaints and maintain a positive community reputation.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation and security regulations and liaise with relevant authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management or related field (Associate’s degree or extensive experience acceptable).
• 3‑5+ years of management experience in a high‑volume retail or grocery environment, preferably as an Assistant or Department Manager.
• Proven leadership ability to delegate, coach and motivate diverse teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, P&L analysis and expense control.
• In‑depth knowledge of retail operations, inventory management and store compliance.
