Assistant Branch Manager – Supermarket (Yangon)

About the role

The Assistant Branch Manager will support the overall operation of a high‑volume supermarket in Yangon. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will help drive sales, ensure financial performance, and maintain a safe, customer‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations across all departments (produce, deli, bakery, stock, cashiering, etc.).
• Develop and enforce policies to keep the store clean, safe, and well‑organized.
• Manage inventory levels, receive goods, and minimise waste and stock‑outs.
• Prepare and control the annual budget, monitor expenses and overheads.
• Analyse sales, revenue and profit data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Implement marketing initiatives to attract new customers and boost profitability.
• Handle cash processes and ensure accurate sales reconciliation.
• Recruit, train, schedule and supervise store staff, including department managers.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching and resolve personnel issues.
• Ensure excellent customer service and promptly address complaints.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation and security regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3‑5+ years of management experience in a high‑volume retail or grocery environment.
• Proven leadership ability to delegate, coach and motivate diverse teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, P&L analysis and expense control.
• Solid operational management skills, including inventory control and store upkeep.
