Accounting Manager – Finance Lead in Myanmar

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our finance and accounting operations for a pharmaceutical company in Myanmar. The role combines oversight of core accounting functions with strategic financial analysis and team development.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Payroll, and Inventory processes.
• Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting.
• Maintain compliance with Myanmar tax laws, including Commercial Tax, Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Tax, and Personal Income Tax.
• Develop and enforce internal control policies and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Manage and optimize the ERP accounting system, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and provide financial recommendations to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or ACCA preferred.
• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of Myanmar taxation, accounting standards, and financial regulations.
• Experience in wholesale, import & export, manufacturing, distribution, trading, or FMCG is an advantage.
• Proficiency in both Myanmar and English (written and spoken).

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems.
• Familiarity with Tally, MYOB, or similar accounting software.
