Programme Coordinator – Humanitarian Coordinator

About the role

The Humanitarian Coordinator for the Myanmar INGO Forum will act as the main link between INGOs, national and sub‑national coordination structures, and international partners. Based in Yangon, the role ensures that operational insights from INGOs shape collective evidence, advocacy and policy dialogue across Myanmar’s complex humanitarian landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Represent INGO members in national and sub‑national humanitarian coordination forums, engaging with UN leadership, clusters, donors and NGOs.
• Support the convening of INGOs at sub‑national levels to ensure their needs are heard and integrated into coordination meetings.
• Elevate operational and coordination issues identified at sub‑national meetings to the national level.
• Facilitate internal INGO Forum discussions on key operational challenges.
• Provide evidence‑based analysis on the evolving operational context, response gaps and humanitarian challenges.
• Share consolidated, user‑friendly information with INGO Forum members.
• Represent the INGO Forum externally on behalf of the Head of Unit and act as Head of Unit when required.

Required profile

• University degree in development studies, humanitarian affairs, political science or related social sciences.
• Minimum 3 years experience in humanitarian, development or peace‑building sectors, preferably in program management.
• Proven ability to support planning, coordination and collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
• Independent decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of the Myanmar context, International Humanitarian Law and UN/donor operations.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
