Country Director – Myanmar

About the role

Oxfam is seeking a Country Director for Myanmar to provide overall leadership and strategic direction for its humanitarian, development, advocacy and influencing programmes. The role reports to the Asia Regional Platform and Regional Director and is responsible for delivering high‑quality impact and sound financial and people management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of Oxfam’s 2030 Global Strategy and Asia Regional Strategy in Myanmar.
• Ensure programme quality, impact, and organizational performance across humanitarian and development activities.
• Manage financial resources, budgeting, fundraising and donor engagement.
• Build and maintain partnerships with civil society, donors, governments, UN agencies and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years senior leadership experience at Director level in fragile, Asian contexts.
• 10+ years leading multi‑disciplinary teams in complex environments.
• Proven expertise in conflict‑sensitive programming, gender justice and rights‑based approaches.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and representation skills at national, regional and international levels.
