Content Producer Consultant – Photography & Editorial

About the role

UNICEF Myanmar is seeking two individual consultants to provide on‑demand photography and editorial support for humanitarian programmes. The role involves capturing high‑quality visual content and producing human‑interest stories that showcase programme impact for advocacy, donor visibility and public communication.

Key responsibilities

• Capture, edit and deliver high‑resolution photographs with embedded metadata, English captions and signed consent forms for all subjects.
• Write 800‑1000 word human‑interest stories in English, incorporating direct quotes from field subjects and revising based on supervisor feedback.
• Submit final photographs, captions, consent documentation and stories within agreed post‑production deadlines.
• Use personal professional equipment and ensure compliance with UNICEF’s ethical, visual and child‑safeguarding guidelines.
• Obtain UNDSS security clearance before any field travel and adhere to pre‑approved accommodation arrangements.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Communications, Journalism, Photography, Visual Arts or related field (or secondary education with ≥5 years relevant experience).
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in content production, including photography and visual storytelling.
• At least 3 years field experience producing content for development, humanitarian or child‑rights programmes.
• Myanmar national, fluent in Burmese and proficient in English, able to travel throughout the country on short notice.

Required skills

• Proficiency with professional photo‑editing tools such as Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop.
• Strong long‑form English writing ability for human‑interest narratives.
• Capability to conduct field interviews and produce compelling, human‑centred stories.
