Community Facilitator – Nutrition (Rakhine, Myanmar)

About the role

The Community Facilitator (Nutrition) will work in Pauktaw Township, Rakhine State, supporting nutrition programmes that treat severe and moderate acute malnutrition. The role involves close collaboration with village communities, mother‑to‑mother support groups, father groups and volunteers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist project assistants in forming mother‑to‑mother support groups and father groups in the project area.
• Implement activities related to the management and treatment of acute malnutrition, including screening, distribution of blanket supplementary feeding and supervision of community nutrition workers.
• Provide individual counselling and education on breastfeeding and complementary feeding for children under two years.
• Support training sessions for volunteers and health workers and assist supervisors with demonstrations, cooking competitions and capacity‑building activities.
• Prepare monthly activity reports, maintain project records and help with referral activities for pregnant women and children at risk of malnutrition.

Required profile

• Experience working in community organisations, preferably at least one year in a related nutrition or health field.
• Completion of middle school and high school (matriculation); a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project offices and work in challenging environments.
• Strong staff management skills and ability to foster teamwork across locations.
