General Manager – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The Production General Manager (GM) leads the entire manufacturing operation, ensuring efficient, cost‑effective, safe, and high‑quality production. Reporting to senior leadership, the GM aligns plant performance with the company’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise production teams, including department heads and supervisors.
• Set production goals and develop strategies to meet customer demand while optimizing resources.
• Create and manage production schedules and workflows to guarantee timely deliveries.
• Oversee implementation and enforcement of quality‑control standards.
• Apply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste and boost productivity.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage preventative‑maintenance programs to minimise downtime.
• Direct equipment repairs, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
• Participate in long‑term planning and growth initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of new products or processes.

Required profile

• Graduate degree (any field).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing management.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, lean manufacturing, and quality control.
• Exceptional organisational ability with multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions.
