General Accountant

About the role

Marlarmyaing Agrochemical Company Limited is hiring a General Accountant. The role covers day-to-day accounting transactions, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing, and the preparation of financial reports and tax documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting transactions, journal entries and general ledger postings, keeping financial records complete and accurate.
• Record and monitor accounts payable and receivable, verify invoices and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Perform regular bank, cash, supplier, customer and other balance reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing, including account adjustments, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and supporting schedules.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, trial balances, account schedules and other management reports.
• Prepare and maintain tax documents, support tax calculations and submissions, and ensure records comply with laws and regulations.
• Maintain financial documentation and filing systems and provide schedules for internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, or LCCI (III) accounting qualification, preferred.
• At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in general accounting, preferably in a group of companies, trading, manufacturing, retail or service environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger, journal entries, AP/AR, bank reconciliation, accruals, prepayments and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of Myanmar accounting and tax requirements, statutory documentation and financial compliance.
• Responsible, trustworthy, organized, detail-oriented, confidential, able to meet deadlines and work with cross-functional teams under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and accounting software/ERP systems; strong Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools preferred.
