Communications Coordinator (Fixed‑Term, Yangon)

About the role

Oxfam GB in Myanmar is seeking a Communications Coordinator on a one‑year fixed‑term contract based in Yangon. The role will lead the organisation’s communications and visibility activities, focusing on generating compelling stories and high‑quality content that showcase Oxfam’s programmes, impact and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and document stories, evidence and learning from Oxfam‑supported programmes by working closely with programme teams, partners and communities.
• Conduct field visits to gather interviews, photographs, video footage and other material for communication products.
• Produce human‑interest stories, case studies, articles, blogs and short pieces that translate complex programme information into clear narratives for donors, media and the public.
• Design and produce digital and print communication materials, ensuring consistency with Oxfam’s brand, safeguarding standards and ethical storytelling guidelines.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date repository of stories, images, videos and quotations for internal and external use.
• Act as Oxfam‑Myanmar’s data‑rights focal point, overseeing ethical data collection, storage and digital security in coordination with the IT department.
• Support the design and promotion of impact‑focused events and develop media and visibility assets.

Required profile

• National of Myanmar (role open to national applicants only).
• Experience in communications, storytelling and content production within the development or humanitarian sector.
• Ability to work collaboratively with programme teams, partners and field staff.
• Strong commitment to Oxfam’s values, brand standards and safeguarding requirements.
