Child Protection Team Leader

About the role

The Child Protection Team Leader provides technical leadership and day‑to‑day management of child protection programmes across multiple locations in Rakhine State. Reporting to the Protection Project Manager, the role ensures high‑quality implementation, coordination and capacity strengthening of staff and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and monitor weekly and monthly work plans aligned with project indicators and donor targets.
• Lead and coordinate child protection activities, ensuring compliance with approved work plans, budgets and timelines.
• Supervise Protection Officers, Assistants and incentive workers, providing coaching, performance feedback and workload planning.
• Oversee case management services, monitoring processes from identification to closure and ensuring data accuracy in Primero/CPIMS+.
• Facilitate case conferences, referral pathways and emergency response activities as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing child protection programmes in humanitarian settings.
• Ability to supervise and mentor field‑based and remote staff.
• Strong knowledge of DRC policies, donor requirements, Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPMS) and inter‑agency case management guidelines.
• Experience with monitoring, reporting and coordination with local partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Primero/CPIMS+ case management system.
• Familiarity with Child Protection Minimum Standards (CPMS) and inter‑agency case management SOPs.
