Chief Engineer (Head of Project) - Civil

About the role

An experienced and highly capable Chief Engineer (Civil) / Head of Project is sought to lead construction and engineering operations. The role covers monitoring project progress, approving engineering drawings and designs, leading site teams, managing budgets and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project progress, schedules, equipment, materials and site productivity
• Review and approve engineering drawings, structural designs and construction methods
• Lead and mentor site engineers, project managers and technical teams
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, construction codes and quality standards
• Manage QA/QC processes and data validation
• Control project budgets, resources, contractor payments and equipment procurement
• Identify and resolve technical issues, risks and design conflicts
• Coordinate with geotechnical, hydraulic, environmental and utility specialists

Required profile

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 15+ years of relevant experience in construction and engineering
• Willingness to work on-site and in varying weather conditions

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of structural design, construction methods and local building codes
• Proficiency in structural design and project management software
• Leadership, problem-solving, negotiation and stakeholder coordination skills
